This is my nineteenth year teaching high school English and my twelfth year at University Senior High School on the west side of Los Angeles. In addition to Uni, I am also an adjunct English Professor at Santa Monica College and Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth. Previously, I taught at Manual Arts High School in central Los Angeles. No matter the location, my favorite part of this crazy job is working with teenagers and helping to inspire young writers and readers. I am a horror junkie with a penchant for zombies. My favorite authors include Octavia Butler, Alma Katsu, Silvia Moreno-Garcia, Gillian Flynn, Katharine Arden, Roxane Gay, Tananarive Due, Margaret Atwood, Shirley Jackson, Neil Gaiman, Kate Atkinson, and Ruth Ware. I attended college in Colorado and completed my master's degree at the University of Southern California. I am happy to be working with all of you this year and hope you use this website to stay informed of assignments as well as to view samples of your colleagues' awesome work.
